MEET THE ABUJA USE-LESS BIG BOY

Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria. The big boys and men are scattered over the posh areas of Abuja, so sometimes, it is hard to separate coated gold from real gold but the attributes of good ones blossom like fresh flowers as testimonies reveal. Many working class adults left their jobs because of a bad Boss. Research findings reveal that goal setting and managing priorities are the two most important factors for workers to be satisfied with their managers and employers.

It can be bemusing when you listen to Bosses complain that their best employees are leaving. The thing is, they don't leave their  jobs they leave their Bosses. No employee wants to be in a stiff and tensed environment where there is no room to achieve one's career goals. It is therefore important for Bosses to recognize what employees' need to fulfill their desires and stick to the Job.

Staff are not expecting an instant promotion for making the company better and achieving a part of the company's objectives. Yet, there is nothing wrong in offering us a pat on the back. There is no one who doesn't like a thumb up for their hard work when they work their butts off to reach goals, they should be rewarded for a job well done. They won't leave the company if they were rewarded for their efforts.

In the search for a good employer, we meet employees who spoke well about their Bosses. Mr. Ode Amieghomwan Oghogho of Eskimo Records and CEO Viscount Savings and Loans was identified and Xrayed. We heard about his activities but did not receive  good comments from his staff who seek a moratorium for complacency, as they analyze their experience where they have worked and how they were treated under the

tutuledge of the NO-NONSENSE Mr. Ode.

He reassures staff which may take the form of encouragement and stimulation to do even better. They both go hand-in-hand and the results from employees can be impressive. Once you are reassured that you are on the right track, then you can achieve anything as a staff.

He is friendly and approachable We all had difficult and bad tempered Bosses, not to mention autocratic and mean ones as well. If your boss is friendly and approachable it really helps you to discuss a problem or how to solve a particular issue which is bothering you in achieving your set goals on the job. For a Boss, Mr Ode is approachable, easy going and runs an open-door policy.

He gives immediate feedback Workers want feedback and they need it immediately whether they have screwed up or succeeded. That is when they really appreciate it and not months later at the performance assessment level. Anytime you approach him with a problem, he responds to it albeit immediately even via a phone conversation or short message service (SMS).

He creates a constructive atmosphere If you really feel part of the team and know that respect, integrity and trust are actually put into practice, then you have a good Boss. The Boss will be the driving force in creating this atmosphere which in turn will lead to higher morale and greater motivation.

He is flexible Because your Boss takes a personal interest in his workers' lives, He will be much more willing to allow for flexible working arrangements as that will allow him to attend to other matters that need more attention. You will naturally feel more valued and more committed.

He is not afraid of empowerment Some bosses steer clear of empowerment as they feel that workers could start to run the whole company. Insecure bosses want to stay in control. But a good boss knows that by encouraging others to make changes to improve their lives, production and finances, then it will be a win-win situation for everyone. Eskimo record label is a an example of Mr Ode's empowerment project. He has done what big names in the industry have not done, that of identifying and empowering young talents in the entertainment industry.

Boss is empathetic Empathy is an essential human quality and goes over and above taking an interest in the employee as an individual. The good Boss's perceptions of what people are going through is paramount to building a great team. He is not just a figurehead playing a role but rather a person who is fully tuned into his five senses in

understanding what is going on around him.

This article is intended to identify good leadership and men who willingly do things without expecting anything in return.

The part-two of this article will explain more of how 'USE-LESS' and impactfull Mr. Ode Amieghomwan is as a person.
